Franchisee Spotlight

Who is Amy?

I have an MBA from Sam M. Walton College of Business and University of Arkansas, an AOS in Culinary Arts from Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting from AZ State University in Tempe, AZ. Immediately prior to launching OLP of Northwest Arkansas, I was the ED of a startup non-profit in Northwest Arkansas. I've also been a pastry chef/baker at a couple of bakeries in different regions, an Ops. Manager at University of Arkansas, and have worked in commercial real estate, the trucking industry, and the airline industry.

Why did Amy make a career change?

I have a creative, project-management mindset. When the startup nonprofit I helped get off the ground entered its sustainment phase, I realized I needed a different kind of challenge going forward than it could offer me at that point. I had my resume posted to several job-search websites when Liz approached me about franchising opportunities. My husband and I had several reasons to be skeptical of business ownership, but when Liz answered each of them and we met the folks at our franchisor's main office, we decided it was a risk worth taking.

Why will Amy make a great franchisee?

I'm a reliable, creative, and communicative self-starter who's determined to build the business and create lasting value for both our clients and the eventual buyer of our business.

What were Amy's search criteria for finding the right franchise company?

I didn't have search criteria because I wasn’t looking for a franchise opportunity. It pretty much came to me and answered any objections I had when looking for it in the first place.

In Her words, here's what Amy had to say about working with Liz:

Liz was a great advocate for us. She took our needs, hopes, and dreams into account and matched us with not only the right opportunity in our local region, but also with the right franchise culture to suit our needs and goals.
